Education tour

Key Stage Two Education Tour

Discover some of the fascinating key objects in the museum’s collection during a tour with members of the education team. Pupils will learn about the history of the old police cells and about the development of policing. The tour supports areas of the curriculum such as Crime and Punishment, Local History, and Technology.

Exploring the cells could also inspire a variety of creative activities back in the classroom, from imaginative writing to protest poster design. Further, we hope our tour will prompt class discussions around policing, the causes of crime, and how the criminal justice system has changed over time.

A worksheet is available to accompany the tour.
