Brighton Police Control Room, John Street c. 1965

The new purpose built Police Headquaters in John Street was opened in September 1965 by Sir Frank Soskice QC MP, Secretary of State for the Home Department. The station replaced the cramped conditions of the Town Hall and had its own dedicated control room. The officer nearest the camera is PC Mick Sinden.
